This Privacy Policy describes how Status Downloader ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app. Status Downloader is developed and maintained by Narendra Sorathiya ("the Developer").
Status Downloader is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. in any way. "WhatsApp" is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC, referenced here only to describe the app's compatibility with status files that WhatsApp itself saves on your device.
Status Downloader lets you view and save a copy of the image and video statuses that WhatsApp (and, if selected, WhatsApp Business) already stores locally on your device. To do this, you grant the app one-time access to that folder using Android's built-in Storage Access Framework folder picker. The app only reads files from the folder you explicitly select — it does not access any other part of your device's storage, and it has no connection to WhatsApp's servers, your WhatsApp account, your contacts, or your messages.
The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal details such as your name, phone number, or email address. We do not access your WhatsApp messages, contacts, call logs, or any personal files outside the status folder you grant access to. Status images and videos you view or save with the App never leave your device — we do not upload, transmit, or store them on any server.
The App uses a small number of third-party services to keep it stable and, if applicable, to show ads. These services may automatically collect limited technical and usage information as described below. No data collected by these services is sold, and none of it includes the media files you view or save.

These services are operated by Google. You can review Google's own privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
The App does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or call/SMS logs.
Statuses you choose to save are stored only on your device, in your device's normal gallery/media storage, and remain there until you delete them yourself (including from the App's "Saved" tab). Analytics and crash data collected by Firebase is retained according to Google's own retention periods, which you can review in Google's privacy documentation linked above. Uninstalling the App removes all app-local data.
Status Downloader is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
